Goa is one of my all-time favourite holiday destinations. This time I was there during monsoons and I was sceptical about my experience here in goa in the rainy season, as I have never been to Goa in the Monsoons. Monsoon makes goa even more beautiful and serene. It's an altogether different experience to visit Goa in monsoons.
This time we want to explore the heritage hotels in Goa. One of our friends suggested visiting Fort Tiracol, Heritage Hotel on weekend. It's a majestic fort on the banks of river Tiracol. One of the peculiar features about the place is you can see the merger of River Tiracol and the Arabian sea. The Fort of 'Tiracol ' or 'Tirakhol' and locally known as 'Terekhol'. It is located on the northern tip of Goa. The fort is located about 45 km away from the capital city of Panaji, Goa, and a ferry service from Querim is available to reach Tiracol. The Fort was originally built by Maharaja Khem Sawant Bhonsle, the king of Sawantwadi in the 17th century. Now, Fort Tiracol has been converted into a hotel, The Fort Tiracol Heritage.
As decided we went there for the weekend. As we were getting close to the destinations the feeling of joy of closeness to nature was increasing our excitement level.

Once we reached, I was ecstatic to see the rooms, in and around the Fort Tiracol Heritage Hotel. A beautiful 17th century Church stands in the middle as we enter the courtyard of the hotel which definitely adds up to the charm of the place.

There are only seven rooms and suites designed tastefully with Portuguese interiors which are named after seven days of the week: 5 Deluxe double and 2 Suites. With a limited number of Rooms Fort Tiracol, Heritage Hotel provide one to enjoy quality time with their loved ones in the midst of nature. We all got the keys to our room and without any further delay, we proceed to our respective rooms. As we entered our room I was spellbound by the old charm and little details add on to the beauty of the room.

I loved the restroom more than the bedroom which was huge and nicely done.

Without wasting any time, we went downstairs to enjoy the majestic view of the sea. Do apply mosquito repellent on your body before getting out in the evening as there are many mosquitoes downstairs. The hotel staff does provide the mosquito repellent with the toiletries.

We spent some quality time sitting and enjoying the view and amazing breeze. Before sunset, we went upstairs and decided to sit in the restaurant upstairs as we all were hungry. We had tea, coffee and pakodas which was amazing. There are two sitting arrangement one outside and other inside enclosed. We choose to sit outside and believe me the view from there is just mesmerising and the essence of the place stops you to leave the place. We had a lovely time enjoying food and conversation with friends. How time flies away sitting and chatting we didn't realise. We sat there until midnight.

When we realised its too late, we went to our rooms for a good night sleep as the next day we had to leave back home. Next morning we woke up, got ready and had breakfast in the heritage hotel restaurant. I clicked some of the pictures in the morning after having breakfast and I am sure these pics will create an urge in you to visit this place anytime soon.
