ISKCON Temple came to me as a surprise. One day when me and parents were travelling to gateway of India, we came across a taxi driver who suggested us to visit the ISKCON Temple. ISKCON temple is officialy known as Sri Sri Radha Rasabihari Ji Temple and locally known as Hare Rama Hare Krishna Temple located in Juhu, Mumbai. He offered us to take to as many places as he can cover from 9 am to 6 pm in one day at a price of Rs 1500 and also gave us a concession of Rs 1000. So, it was a fare deal and we decided to visit the temple and other nearby tourist attaraction in Juhu on the other day with that taxi driver.
After having breakfast on the decided day we start from the house around 9:30 am from Colaba to Juhu. We reached the temple around 11:40 am. There is an arrangement for keeping the foot wears on the right side on entering the gate of the temple.
It is one of India's most beautiful temple of Lord Krishna in Mumbai and visited by thousands of devotees round the year. The temple is made up of white marble which makes its exteriors beautiful and apart from the temple the temple complex includes an auditorium, restaurant and twin towered seven-storey guest house where visitors can stay.
Photography is not allowed inside the temple. We reached the temple before the afternoon aarti. So we sat inside the temple for half an houre admiring the its beauty and peace. There were so many other devotees waiting to get a glimpse of god as the doors opens during the aarti. The presiding deities at the temple are Sri Sri Gaura- Nitai, Sri Sri Radha Rasabihari and Shri Sri Sita Rama Laxman Hanuman. Aarti is done ten times starting from 4:30 AM to 8:30 PM at 4:30 AM, 5:15 AM, 7:15 AM, 7:30 AM, 8:00 AM, 12:30 PM, 4:30 PM, 7:00 PM,7:30 PM AND 8:30 PM.
We stood up for Raj Bhog aarti at 12:30 PM. Aarti performed by the priests on opening the doors is highly a enchanting and divine experience for lifetime.
After aarti we went out and had wholesome prasad in the langar. It was indeed a memorable visit to Sri Sri Radha Rasabihari Ji Temple and I will surely recommend you to visit this temple if you are planning a trip to Mumbai.
